Treatment with botulinum toxin is indicated for the temporary improvement of expression wrinkles in the upper third of the face: frontal, glabellar and periocular caused by the repeated contraction of certain muscles.

The primary cause of wrinkle formation is facial mimicry. The movements of the mimic muscles cause the skin to contract and relax with each facial expression. The result is a face furrowed with pronounced frown lines and often the fact that the eyebrows remain partly frowned gives a sombre air.

Botulinum toxin is a safe, effective and time-repeatable solution. It acts precisely on the cause of mimic wrinkles, harmlessly and selectively reducing the activity of the mimic muscles.

Botox treatment is an outpatient procedure.

Anaesthesia: in some cases an anaesthetic cream can be applied

Final result: after 5-7 days. A touch-up is possible 7 days after treatment.

Duration of results: 3 to 6 months.
