Chemical peelings

The term peeling, from the English to peel, meaning to exfoliate, defines a method consisting of the application of one or more chemical substances capable of inducing a more or less marked exfoliative reaction, resulting in tissue regeneration. A distinction is made between superficial, medium and deep peelings.

They are indicated in cases of fine wrinkles, irregular pigmentation, small acne scars, seborrhoeic skin, skin blemishes due to ageing and photoageing, melasma and chloasma, and prevention of photoageing.

The sessions required to achieve the desired result depend on the type of agent used and the patient’s phototype.
